MINNEAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Minnesota Lynx host the Golden State Valkyries on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at Target Center in a matchup of two of the WNBA’s top teams. Minnesota (31-7) enters with the better record and has won three straight meetings with Golden State, including a 77-66 victory at Golden State on Aug. 19. The Lynx also beat the Valkyries 81-75 on June 19 and 87-84 on June 4. Golden State (25-11) is coming off a 73-70 loss at Chicago on Friday. Laeticia Amihere scored 16 points with six rebounds in that game, one of her best performances of the season. Amihere has had a limited recent role, with several single-digit-minute outings, before breaking out against the Sky. Minnesota won 94-84 at Washington on Friday. Natasha Howard led the Lynx with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Howard has recorded double figures in scoring in seven of her past nine games, with two double-doubles in that stretch. The Lynx have won 10 of their last 11, with the only loss coming Aug. 6 against Los Angeles. Golden State has lost two of its past four. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 96-79 Minnesota win. The Lynx are a 5.5-point favorite, with the over/under at 162.5. Amihere will need to build on her Chicago performance to help Golden State keep pace. Howard gives Minnesota a versatile inside-outside threat, capable of scoring, rebounding and defending at a high level. Monday’s game could be a preview of a potential playoff matchup.
