(Interstat) — The Seattle Storm visits the Portland Fire on Saturday at Moda Center in Portland, Ore., in a WNBA matchup between teams at the bottom of the standings. Seattle (6-27) enters with a 10-game losing streak, the last victory coming at Los Angeles on July 6. Portland (11-19) has lost four of its past five, including a 106-101 home loss to the Sparks on Aug. 2. Seattle center Dominique Malonga has been the Storm’s most consistent offensive force. She posted 31 points and 10 rebounds in Seattle’s 92-86 loss at New York on Aug. 5, and has averaged 19.1 points and 11.0 rebounds over her last eight games. That stretch includes a 28-point, 14-rebound effort at Indiana on July 17 and 15 rebounds against Washington on July 12. Portland forward Bridget Carleton is the Fire’s top player to watch. She had 24 points and 11 rebounds in Portland’s Aug. 2 loss to Los Angeles, and scored 26 points against Indiana on July 31. Over her last eight games, Carleton is averaging 16.6 points. Portland is 2-0 against Seattle this season, winning 94-89 at home on June 17 and 77-72 in Seattle on July 4. The Fire has held the Storm under 90 in both meetings. Despite Seattle’s record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a 102-99 Storm victory. The teams will close the season series Aug. 14 in Seattle.
