MINNEAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Minnesota Lynx host the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Target Center in a matchup of two of the WNBA’s top teams. Minnesota enters with a 25-7 record. Las Vegas is 22-9. The teams met June 13, when the Aces earned a 100-97 victory in Las Vegas. The Lynx have won four of their past five games but dropped their most recent contest 89-82 to Los Angeles on Thursday. The Aces beat Indiana 86-84 in overtime Thursday. Minnesota will lean on guard Olivia Miles, who has averaged 22.3 points over her last three games. She had 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists against Los Angeles, 28 points and six assists against Indiana on Aug. 2, and 24 points, six rebounds and eight assists against Toronto on July 28. The guard has provided scoring punch alongside Napheesa Collier, who had 21 points and eight rebounds in Thursday’s loss. Las Vegas counters with A’ja Wilson, who has recorded double-doubles in four of her last five games and is averaging 27.6 points and 10.8 rebounds over that span. Wilson posted 18 points and 12 rebounds in Thursday’s overtime win over Indiana, 23 points against Atlanta on Aug. 3 and a 36-point, 12-rebound effort against Chicago on Aug. 1. The Aces have won four of their last six games. Beyond Wilson, Jackie Young contributed 22 points and eight assists in Thursday’s victory. Las Vegas has also won three of its past five road games. Saturday’s game begins a home-and-home set; the teams meet again Aug. 15 in Las Vegas. Minnesota hosts Dallas on Sunday before visiting Portland on Wednesday. Las Vegas travels to New York on Sunday.
