CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Indiana Fever visit the Chicago Sky on Saturday afternoon at Allstate Arena in a WNBA regular-season matchup of teams heading in opposite directions. Indiana (19-12) is second in the Eastern Conference and coming off a heartbreaking 86-84 overtime loss at home to Las Vegas on Thursday. Aliyah Boston did not go quietly, recording 21 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes. She also had 22 points and six rebounds in a 123-88 rout of Connecticut on July 22, and has reached at least 14 points in seven of her past eight games. Chicago (12-19) is trying to climb out of the lower half of the standings but has won four of its past six. The Sky earned a 95-88 home victory over Los Angeles on Wednesday. Natasha Cloud, a key playmaker, finished with 15 points, five rebounds and nine assists in that game. She also had 15 points and nine assists in a 96-82 home win over the Sparks on July 17. The teams played a memorable overtime game June 11 in Indiana, with the Fever winning 114-106. The rematch gives Chicago a chance to split the season series. Indiana has been installed as a 6.5-point road favorite. The over/under is 193.5. Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow Chicago victory, 95-92, suggesting the Fever’s favored status could be tested. The Sky will look to capitalize on home-court energy and Cloud’s distribution. Kamilla Cardoso also was productive in Wednesday’s win, scoring 15 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Indiana will counter with its balanced attack. Caitlin Clark had 18 points and eight assists in Thursday’s loss, and Kelsey Mitchell also scored 21. The Fever have played a demanding stretch: before the Las Vegas loss, they beat Portland, Seattle and Connecticut, and they went 3-1 against defending champion New York earlier this month. Chicago, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses over its last six, with the most lopsided setback being a 106-101 loss to Phoenix on Aug. 3. An afternoon tip at Allstate Arena, the Sky have a chance to strengthen their playoff positioning against a Fever team that will be eager to stop its first losing streak in nearly a month. Primetime performances from Boston and Cloud could decide a game expected to remain close to the finish. The game is the teams’ final regular-season meeting before they face again Aug. 23 in Chicago.
