Dallas Wings at Washington Mystics Preview WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Dallas Wings will look to bounce back from a loss to the Mystics when they visit Washington on Wednesday at CareFirst Arena. Dallas enters the Aug. 5 matchup with a 19-11 record, while Washington is 16-12. The Wings are 2.5-point favorites despite the Interstat game simulator projecting a 93-89 Washington victory. The over/under is set at 165.5. These teams met Friday, when the Mystics won 81-75 in Washington. Shakira Austin led the Mystics with 28 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Arike Ogunbowale scored 20 points for Dallas in that game. The Wings beat Washington 92-69 on May 18 in Dallas. Dallas is coming off an 83-63 win over Connecticut on Sunday. Ogunbowale had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in 23 minutes, while Jessica Shepard added 15 points and nine rebounds. The Wings have split their last four games. Ogunbowale has been Dallas’ primary scoring threat. In her past eight games, she has scored at least 15 points, reaching 20 or more six times. She had 29 points against New York on July 20 and 24 points in consecutive games against Atlanta on July 29 and Portland on July 22. She is averaging roughly 21.3 points over that stretch. Washington enters Wednesday having won two straight, including Tuesday’s 92-84 victory over Connecticut. Austin has been dominant recently, recording double-doubles in three of her past four games. She had 28 points and 10 rebounds against Dallas on July 31, 25 points and six rebounds against Las Vegas on July 22, and 15 points and 15 rebounds against Golden State on July 20. The Mystics have been strong at home, with their only recent home loss coming July 6 against Golden State. They have won four of their past six overall. Dallas will play Golden State at home on Friday, while Washington hosts Atlanta on Friday. Wednesday’s game is the final regular-season meeting between the Wings and Mystics this year.
