NEW YORK (Interstat) — The New York Liberty look to keep rolling when they host the Seattle Storm on Monday at Barclays Center. New York (17-13) has won three of its last four, including a 94-92 victory over Phoenix on Saturday. Sabrina Ionescu led the way with 27 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. Jonquel Jones added 16 points and nine rebounds, while Breanna Stewart had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Seattle (6-25) has lost eight straight after falling 98-89 at Atlanta on Friday. Dominique Malonga had 16 points and 13 rebounds in that defeat. The center has been a bright spot, posting double-doubles in six of her last eight games, including a 28-point, 14-rebound outing against Indiana on July 17. The teams have met once this season, with Seattle taking a 99-88 win at home on June 25. Since then, the Storm have gone 1-10, while the Liberty have split their 11 games. Malonga and Ionescu are the players to watch. Ionescu has scored at least 25 points in four of her last six games. Malonga has been Seattle’s most consistent inside presence despite the team’s struggles. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 93-85 New York victory. New York was installed as an 8.5-point favorite, with an over/under of 183.5. The teams will play again Wednesday at Barclays Center, the first of back-to-back meetings between the clubs in New York. Seattle will then visit Portland on Aug. 8, while New York hosts Las Vegas on Aug. 9. Monday’s game marks the midpoint of a stretch that could shape both teams’ fortunes: New York is aiming for a strong push toward playoff positioning, while Seattle is trying to snap its losing skid and build momentum despite a difficult season. Tipoff information was not immediately announced.
