ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Connecticut Sun will try to snap a four-game losing streak Sunday when they visit the Dallas Wings at College Park Center. Dallas (18-11) enters as a 10.5-point favorite despite a two-game skid. The Wings lost 81-75 at Washington on Friday, two nights after falling 82-81 to Atlanta at home. Connecticut (7-22) last won July 17, beating Phoenix 96-83, and has since lost to Phoenix, Indiana, Washington and Chicago. The teams met once before this season, with Dallas winning 86-83 at Connecticut on July 2. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 95-86 Dallas victory Sunday. The over/under is 171.5. Dallas has leaned heavily on Paige Bueckers. The guard is averaging 22.3 points over her past eight games, scoring in double figures every time. She posted 23 points, five rebounds and two assists in Friday’s loss at Washington, and she had 34 points and six rebounds against Toronto on July 10. Bueckers has also been a playmaker, dishing out at least five assists in seven of her last eight games. Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points Friday, giving the Wings another scoring threat alongside Bueckers. Connecticut will counter with Olivia Nelson-Ododa. The center has scored in double figures in eight of her last nine games and has three blocks in each of her last two contests. She had 16 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in Thursday’s 94-88 loss to Chicago. Nelson-Ododa also posted 16 points and six rebounds against Washington on July 28, and she totaled 12 points and 12 rebounds at Phoenix on July 19. In Connecticut’s loss to Chicago, Aneesah Morrow scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Leila Lacan added 12 points and six assists. The Sun will need similar production from their supporting cast against a Dallas team that has shown the ability to score in bunches, including a 108-point output at Toronto on July 10. Sunday’s game is the middle meeting of the season series. The teams will play again Aug. 30 in Arlington. Dallas has won the only matchup so far, but Connecticut has been competitive in recent road games despite its record. With Bueckers playing at an All-Star level and Nelson-Ododa providing consistency inside, the rematch offers a clear contrast in styles and stakes as both teams look to build momentum in the second half of the WNBA season.
