Atlanta (16-10) enters as the visiting team, looking to build on a thrilling 93-91 home win over Chicago on Sunday. The Dream have won three of their last four games but have struggled on the road in recent weeks, losing three of their last four away from home. Dallas (18-9) holds the better record and returns to its home floor after a 101-97 victory at Portland on Wednesday. The Wings have won six of their last seven contests. Guard Allisha Gray has been Atlanta’s most consistent offensive weapon. Over her last seven games, Gray has scored at least 17 points each night, including a 29-point, six-rebound, three-assist performance in the Dream’s victory over Chicago. She also posted 22 points and five assists in a win against Seattle on July 9. Gray’s scoring touch will be critical against a stingy Dallas defense. For Dallas, forward Jessica Shepard has been a force on both ends. She recorded a triple-double in the Wings’ win over Portland with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Shepard has been remarkably productive during Dallas’ recent surge, averaging 16.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists over her last five games. Her ability to control the glass and facilitate the offense makes her a matchup problem for Atlanta. The teams have split their season series, with Atlanta winning both meetings. The Dream defeated Dallas 86-69 on May 22 and 77-72 on May 12. The Wings will seek revenge on their home court, where they boast a 10-3 record this season.
