WNBA: Sky at Dream – Game Preview ATLANTA (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream host the Chicago Sky on Sunday, July 19, at State Farm Arena, looking to build on a strong first half of the season against a Chicago team trying to climb out of the bottom of the standings. Atlanta (14-10) enters the matchup riding a 101-92 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday, July 13. The Dream have won two of their last three games and sit comfortably in playoff position in the WNBA standings. Chicago (8-16) comes off a 95-90 win over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday, July 15, but that snapped a five-game losing streak. The Sky remain in the lower tier of the league. The teams met most recently on Tuesday, June 9, when Atlanta won 82-75 at Chicago. The Dream have taken the season series 1-0 so far. For Chicago, forward Azura Stevens has been a consistent force. In the win over Seattle, she played 33 minutes, scoring 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds with four assists. Over her last 10 games, Stevens has recorded six double-doubles, including an 18-point, 13-rebound effort in a loss at Dallas on July 12 and a 24-point, 6-rebound performance against Las Vegas on June 28. She averages 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds over that span. For Atlanta, forward Angel Reese has been the engine. In the Dream’s victory over the Sparks, Reese played 33 minutes, posting 23 points and 13 rebounds with two assists. She has recorded double-doubles in each of her last four games, including 18 points and 11 rebounds against Seattle on July 9. Reese’s rebounding prowess — she averages 11.2 boards per game over her last 10 outings — will test a Chicago frontcourt that has struggled on the glass. The Dream are projected to win 96-89 according to the Interstat game simulator. Atlanta’s offense, led by guards Jordin Canada and Allisha Gray — who combined for 36 points in the win over Los Angeles — should pose problems for a Chicago defense that has surrendered 100 or more points in six of its last 10 games. Chicago will need a strong performance from guard Natasha Cloud, who had 13 points and six assists against Seattle, and from Sydney Taylor, who added 17 points off the bench. The Sky have lost seven of their last 10 overall. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on NBA TV and streamed on WNBA League Pass. Following Sunday, Chicago heads to New York for a two-game set Tuesday and Wednesday against the Liberty. Atlanta travels to Dallas on Wednesday, July 29, to face the Wings.
