WNBA: New York Liberty at Indiana Fever INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) β The New York Liberty visit the Indiana Fever on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in a matchup of two teams jockeying for position in the WNBA standings. New York (13-11) has lost five of its past six games, including a 93-91 defeat at Toronto on Sunday. Indiana (14-10) saw its three-game winning streak snapped Wednesday with an 88-75 loss to Golden State. The Liberty will lean on guard Sabrina Ionescu, who is averaging 24 points over her past three games. Ionescu scored 28 points with eight assists in the loss to Toronto and dropped 25 points with eight rebounds against Minnesota on July 11. She has scored at least 14 points in seven of her past eight outings. Indiana counters with center Aliyah Boston, who has been a consistent force. Boston recorded 15 points and seven rebounds against Golden State on Wednesday after posting 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 109-75 rout of Las Vegas on July 12. She has registered double-doubles in two of her past three games and is averaging 17.1 points and 8.9 rebounds over her last eight contests. The teams met June 6 in Indianapolis, with New York winning 83-75. Breanna Stewart scored 22 for the Liberty in that game, while Boston led Indiana with 18 points and 10 rebounds. New Yorkβs schedule remains demanding. After Saturday, the Liberty begin a four-game road trip Monday at Dallas, followed by two games at Chicago and then a three-game series at Los Angeles. Indiana returns home to face Connecticut on Tuesday before a three-game series at Seattle starting July 26. Projections favor Indiana 93-83, though New York opened as a 1.5-point favorite. The over/under is 172.5. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT.
