WNBA: Storm at Dream ATLANTA (Interstat) — The Seattle Storm visit the Atlanta Dream on Thursday at State Farm Arena, with both teams seeking to reverse recent slides. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Seattle (6-17) arrives having lost seven of its last eight games, though it snapped a five-game skid with an 82-64 victory at Los Angeles on Monday. Atlanta (12-9) has dropped four consecutive contests, most recently an 88-83 home loss to Golden State on Saturday. The matchup is a rematch of June 27, when the Storm beat the Dream 105-90 in Seattle. Flau’jae Johnson led Seattle in that game with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Angel Reese posted 17 points and nine rebounds for Atlanta. Johnson, a guard, has been a key contributor for the Storm. She scored 23 points Monday against the Sparks, adding five rebounds and three assists. Over her past 10 games, Johnson has averaged 14.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists. She produced 28 points against New York on June 25 and 11 points with nine assists against Dallas on June 22. Reese, a forward, has recorded double-doubles in four of her past five games. She had 17 points and 13 rebounds against Golden State on Saturday. Reese averaged 17.0 points and 11.7 rebounds during that five-game stretch. She has 10 double-doubles on the season. The Dream enter with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, but have struggled recently, partly due to a demanding schedule that included three games in four days against Golden State and a road loss at Washington. Atlanta’s offense has averaged 84.0 points during its losing streak, down from its season average of 87.9. Seattle ranks near the bottom of the league in scoring at 78.3 points per game. The Storm have been competitive in several recent losses, falling by six or fewer points five times during their 1-7 stretch. Natisha Hiedeman has provided steady minutes for Seattle, scoring 15 points Monday. Awa Fam added seven points and five rebounds. For Atlanta, Rhyne Howard contributed 19 points and five rebounds Saturday, while Allisha Gray scored 22 points. Injury reports were not immediately available. The Dream will look to avoid a season sweep, while the Storm aim to build on Monday’s victory.
