LAS VEGAS (Interstat) β€” The Chicago Sky visit the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday at Michelob Ultra Arena, with both teams seeking to gain traction in the WNBA standings. Chicago (6-14) sits last in the league, while Phoenix (8-13) is just ahead. The Mercury won the only previous meeting this season, 91-83 on May 15. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 99-97 Phoenix victory. Sky center Kamilla Cardoso has been a bright spot, averaging 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over the past four games. She posted 30 points and eight rebounds in a 124-94 win over Portland on June 26, and 24 points and eight rebounds in a 107-99 loss at Las Vegas on June 28. Cardoso also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds in a loss at Connecticut on June 22. For Phoenix, guard Kahleah Copper has scored 27 or more points in four of her last five outings. She totaled 30 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a 90-67 win over Seattle on July 2, and 28 points in a 111-109 victory at Indiana on June 24. Copper also had a 41-point, 10-rebound performance in a 111-102 overtime loss at Los Angeles on June 13. Chicago comes in after a 98-90 overtime loss at Las Vegas on Friday. The Sky have lost eight of their last 10 games, with the only wins coming against Portland. Phoenix has won three of its last four, including a 90-67 rout of Seattle on Thursday. The game tips off at 7 p.m. PDT.
