WNBA: Dream at Mystics WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream visit the Washington Mystics on Thursday at CareFirst Arena in a critical midseason WNBA matchup. Atlanta (12-7) enters the game having lost three consecutive contests, most recently a 105-90 defeat at Seattle on June 27. The Dream dropped road games to Golden State by three points and 11 points in the preceding days. Washington (9-9) is coming off a dramatic 124-123 quadruple-overtime victory against Portland on June 28. The Mystics have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. Washington forward Michaela Onyenwere played a career-high 49 minutes in the win over Portland, scoring 30 points with five rebounds and five assists. She has scored in double figures in five of her past six games, averaging 17.2 points in that stretch. Key trends Atlanta comes in as a 5.5-point favorite, according to oddsmakers, but the Interstat game simulator projects a 93-91 Washington victory. The over/under is set at 165.5 points. The Dream’s recent slide includes a 78-75 loss at Golden State on June 26 in which Atlanta shot 39.7 percent from the field. The Dream allowed an average of 102.3 points during their three-game losing streak. Washington’s offense has been inconsistent. The Mystics scored 124 points against Portland but managed only 57 points in a loss at Connecticut on June 26. Washington has allowed fewer than 80 points in four of its past six games.
