WNBA: Dream at Valkyries SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream, riding the league’s best record at 12-4, visit the Golden State Valkyries (10-7) on Friday night at Chase Center in a matchup of two of the WNBA’s top five teams. Atlanta enters on a four-game winning streak, most recently beating Toronto 94-87 on Monday. The Dream’s offense has averaged 102.5 points over the past two games, fueled by point guard Jordin Canada, who leads a balanced attack. Canada, a key player to watch for Atlanta, has averaged 12.5 assists over her last four games, including a 13-assist performance against Toronto. In her past three outings, she has produced 11 points and 13 assists, 12 points and 12 assists, and 18 points and five assists, demonstrating her dual-threat capability as a scorer and facilitator. She ranks among the league leaders in assists. Golden State comes off a 92-73 loss at Las Vegas on Sunday, snapping a two-game winning streak. The Valkyries have struggled for consistency, going 4-3 in their last seven contests. They have scored fewer than 80 points in four of their last six games, a trend they aim to reverse on their home floor. Forwards Laeticia Amihere and Kaila Charles are players to watch for Golden State. Amihere, who has seen limited minutes this season, posted 10 points and three rebounds in just 12 minutes against Las Vegas, her most productive outing of the year. Charles had seven points and four rebounds in that game. The teams have not met previously this season. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 94-84 victory for Golden State. Atlanta’s depth has been a major factor. Reserve center Madina Okot contributed 18 points and seven rebounds against Toronto. Guard Allisha Gray added 18 points. The Dream have won eight of their last nine games. Golden State will look to disrupt Canada’s rhythm and control the pace. The Valkyries have been vulnerable against teams with strong guard play, and Atlanta’s ability to push the ball in transition could be a determining factor. Friday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. PDT. The teams will meet again on July 4 in Atlanta.
