WNBA: Las Vegas Aces host Dallas Wings on Thursday PHOENIX (Interstat) — The Las Vegas Aces (12-4) host the Dallas Wings (11-6) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. The Aces enter the game having won four of their last five, including a 92-73 victory over Golden State on Sunday. Las Vegas sits atop the Western Conference standings with a .750 winning percentage. The Wings are coming off a 112-110 overtime win at Seattle on Monday, their third victory in the last four games. Dallas split its two previous meetings with Las Vegas this season, winning both games at home: 95-87 on May 28 and 96-66 on June 15. Players to watch Dallas guard Azzi Fudd has been a key contributor in the Wings’ recent surge. Over her last five games, Fudd has averaged 18.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 34.8 minutes per game. She scored 26 points in Monday’s overtime win against Seattle and had 22 points against Las Vegas on May 28. Fudd recorded 19 points in the Wings’ 30-point win over the Aces on June 15. Las Vegas forward A’ja Wilson continues to produce at an elite level. Wilson has recorded double-doubles in four of her last six games, including a 33-point, 10-rebound performance against Phoenix on June 17. In her two games against Dallas this season, Wilson averaged 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds. She had 21 points and seven rebounds in the May 28 loss and 18 points with five rebounds in the June 15 defeat. Recent history The Wings have won both meetings this season, holding the Aces to an average of 76.5 points per game. Dallas shot 48.2% from the field in the two wins while limiting Las Vegas to 40.1% shooting. The Aces’ offense has been potent overall, averaging 90.6 points per game this season. Wilson leads the team with 22.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game over the last 10 contests. Projection Interstat’s game simulator projects the Aces to win 95-82, though Dallas has proven capable of competing with Las Vegas, particularly with Fudd’s scoring ability. Looking ahead The Wings begin a five-game road trip after Thursday’s game, visiting Minnesota on Sunday before a two-game set at Connecticut on July 1-2. The Aces travel to Chicago on Sunday before returning home for a four-game homestand starting July 3.
