SEATTLE (Interstat) — The Dallas Wings, winners of four of their last six, look to maintain their momentum when they visit the Seattle Storm on Monday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT. The Wings (9-6) sit comfortably in the upper half of the WNBA standings, powered by one of the league’s most dynamic backcourts. Guard Arike Ogunbowale enters the matchup averaging 21 points over her last four outings, a stretch that included a 30-point explosion in a June 5 win over Los Angeles and a 22-point, seven-assist performance in a 96-66 rout of Las Vegas on June 15. She also posted 21 points and three assists in Dallas’ 80-91 loss at Golden State on Wednesday. Ogunbowale has been particularly effective against Seattle this season. In the teams’ most recent meeting on June 1, she played just 18 minutes but tallied nine points and five rebounds in a 79-56 Wings victory at home. Dallas shot 47.8% from the field in that game and held the Storm to 32.8% shooting. The Storm (3-14) have lost 10 straight games and are mired in last place in the league. Seattle’s most recent defeat came Saturday, a 93-73 loss at Phoenix. Guard Natisha Hiedeman scored 20 points and added four assists in 28 minutes for Seattle, continuing a productive individual stretch despite the team’s struggles. Over her last five games, Hiedeman is averaging 18.6 points and 4.6 assists. She scored 26 points with four rebounds and four assists in a 76-72 loss to Golden State on June 12 and registered 19 points and six assists in a narrow 94-89 loss to Portland on June 17. Seattle’s offense has averaged just 78.6 points during its losing streak, while its defense has surrendered an average of 88.8 points per game. The Storm have not won since a 97-85 victory over Washington on May 24. Dallas continues to receive strong contributions from a balanced supporting cast. Forward Jessica Shepard recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in Wednesday’s loss to Golden State, while guard Paige Bueckers added 15 points, eight assists and three rebounds. Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, with Dallas winning 98-94. Following Monday’s game, the Wings travel to Las Vegas to face the Aces on Thursday. The Storm host the New York Liberty on Thursday night.
