WNBA: Dream at Fever INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream visit the Indiana Fever on Thursday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in a matchup of two of the WNBA’s top teams. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT. Atlanta (9-4) sits atop the league standings on the strength of a potent offense and balanced scoring. The Dream are coming off a 102-77 blowout victory at Toronto on Sunday, in which Allisha Gray posted 26 points and seven assists. Gray, a guard, has scored at least 13 points in all 10 games this season, and she is averaging 18.6 points over her last five outings. She had 13 points in Atlanta’s 83-71 loss to Indiana on June 4. Indiana (8-5) has won two straight, most recently an 85-75 road victory against Connecticut on Saturday. Guard Caitlin Clark has been the engine of the Fever attack. She recorded 25 points, five assists and three rebounds in that win, and she is averaging 27.3 points over her last three games. Clark had 17 points and eight assists in the June 4 win over Atlanta. The Fever hold a 1-0 edge in the season series after that four-point victory earlier this month. The teams meet again Saturday in Atlanta. Thursday’s game will feature two of the league’s top offensive performers. Gray leads Atlanta in scoring and assists, while Clark is the Fever’s leading scorer and playmaker. After Thursday, Atlanta returns home to host Indiana on Saturday, then plays four consecutive road games against Golden State, Seattle, Toronto and Chicago. Indiana hosts Phoenix on Monday before traveling to Atlanta for the weekend rematch. The Interstat game simulator projects a 92-84 victory for Indiana. The actual outcome will tip off the first of a back-to-back between these Eastern Conference contenders.
