MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Lynx look to extend their dominance in the Western Conference when they host the Seattle Storm on Saturday at Target Center. Minnesota (7-2) enters the matchup riding a five-game winning streak, most recently routing the Phoenix Mercury 111-77 on Monday. Guard Courtney Williams has been a catalyst, averaging 30 points on 11-of-14 shooting in that victory. Over her past six games, Williams has scored 20 or more points four times, including a season-high 30 against Phoenix. Seattle (3-8) arrives in Minneapolis after a 72-68 loss to Phoenix on Wednesday, its fifth consecutive defeat. The Storm have struggled to find consistency, dropping nine of their last 11 contests after a 2-0 start to the season. Center Awa Fam has been a bright spot for Seattle, posting 18 points and six rebounds in Wednesday’s loss. The third-year player has averaged 9.8 points and 5.0 rebounds over her last five games, with her best performance coming in a 97-85 win over Washington on May 24 (Interstat) — the Storm’s most recent victory. The Lynx boast one of the league’s deepest rosters. Rookie guard Olivia Miles contributed 19 points and nine assists against Phoenix, while forward Antonia Delaere added 13 points and six assists. Seattle’s offense has labored, averaging 74.1 points per game while allowing 82.4. Minnesota, conversely, scores 90.9 points per contest and holds opponents to 79.6.
