SEATTLE (Interstat) — The Seattle Storm host the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Key Arena in a matchup of two Western Conference teams searching for traction early in the WNBA season. Seattle (3-6) has lost three of its last four, most recently a 93-72 road defeat at Toronto on May 30. The Storm defense allowed the Tempo to shoot 52 percent from the field. Phoenix (2-7) has lost six straight, including a 75-68 loss at New York on Friday. The Mercury have dropped seven of their last eight overall. Guard Natisha Hiedeman has been Seattle’s most consistent offensive threat. In her last six games, Hiedeman has scored in double figures five times, including a 24-point outburst in a 97-85 win over Washington on May 24. She averaged 16.8 points across those six contests. In Seattle’s loss to Toronto last time out, Hiedeman posted 18 points and seven assists. Forward Alyssa Thomas has been the engine for Phoenix. She has recorded three double-doubles in her last five games and is averaging 17.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.3 assists over her past eight appearances. Thomas played all 36 minutes in the loss at New York, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds and eight assists. The Mercury, who are winless in four road games this season, continue a three-game trip. Following Wednesday’s contest, Phoenix visits Portland on Friday, then Golden State on Tuesday. Seattle will try to capitalize on home-court advantage. The Storm are 2-2 at Key Arena this season, with wins over Connecticut and Washington. Seattle’s next five games are against teams with a combined winning percentage below .500. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific. The teams will meet again June 20 in Phoenix.
