(Interstat) — The Minnesota Lynx and Chicago Sky renew their early-season WNBA rivalry Friday night at Allstate Arena, with both teams looking to seize momentum in a series that has already produced two closely contested outcomes. Minnesota (4-2) enters after an 85-75 home win over Chicago on May 23, splitting the season series at one game apiece. The Lynx have won three of their past four games overall. She recorded 17 points and seven rebounds in the May 23 loss to Minnesota, and notched 11 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in the Sky’s win over the Lynx six days earlier. Cardoso is averaging 14.8 points and 9.8 rebounds over her past six games. The Lynx have relied on balanced production. In the May 23 win, guard Courtney Williams contributed 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while rookie guard Olivia Miles added 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Chicago’s backcourt has been anchored by guard Skylar Diggins, who collected 13 points, six rebounds and six assists in that same game. Guard Gabriela Jaquez chipped in seven points and four rebounds. Friday’s game marks the third meeting between the teams in less than two weeks, with the home team winning each time. The Lynx will aim to extend their road success after winning three of four away games this season. The Sky, playing just their second home game of the year, look to defend their floor in front of a potential sellout crowd. The Interstat game simulator projects a 95-88 victory for Chicago.
