SEATTLE (Interstat) — The Washington Mystics look to even the score Wednesday night when they visit the Seattle Storm at KeyArena, just three days after dropping the first meeting of the season between the two WNBA clubs. Washington (2-3) arrives having lost three of its last four games, including an 85-97 defeat to Seattle on Sunday. The Mystics have shown flashes of offensive firepower (Interstat) — notably a 104-102 overtime win at Indiana on May 15 (Interstat) — but have struggled to sustain momentum. Guard Sonia Citron has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 19.2 points over her last five games. She posted 16 points, five rebounds and two assists in Sunday’s loss and erupted for 30 points in the win over the Fever. Seattle (3-4) has alternated wins and losses over its last six contests but rides the momentum of back-to-back home victories (Interstat) — Sunday’s win over Washington and a 77-59 defeat of Connecticut on May 22. Guard Natisha Hiedeman has been pivotal for the Storm, scoring 24 points with five assists in the first matchup against the Mystics. She has averaged 15.6 points and 4.3 assists over her last seven games, including a 20-point outing against Connecticut on May 20. The Storm will lean on Hiedeman and center Stefanie Dolson, who contributed 16 points and three rebounds in Sunday’s win. Seattle’s defense has been inconsistent, allowing 80 or more points in four of its last five games, but the offense has topped 85 points in three of the last four. Despite being on the road, Washington enters as a 2.5-point favorite, according to betting lines. The over/under is set at 159 points. An InterStat game simulator projects a 94-90 Seattle victory. The Mystics will look to avoid a second straight loss to Seattle before returning home to face Los Angeles on Friday. The Storm, seeking a third consecutive win, head to Toronto on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. PDT.
