MINNEAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx meet Wednesday at Target Center in a WNBA matchup featuring two of the league’s top early-season teams. Atlanta (4-1) holds the best record across all competitions, while Minnesota (4-2) sits just behind. The teams last met May 9, when the Dream edged the Lynx 91-90 in Atlanta. Dream guard Jordin Canada has been a driving force for Atlanta. In Sunday’s 82-80 win over Phoenix, she logged 11 points, seven rebounds and 14 assists. Over her past five games, Canada is averaging 12.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists, including a 19-point, seven-rebound, five-assist effort May 12 against Dallas. Lynx forward Natasha Howard leads Minnesota’s attack. She posted 26 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday’s 85-75 win over Chicago, and has scored at least 17 points in four of her past five games. However, Howard managed just six points and five rebounds in the May 9 loss to Atlanta. Wednesday’s game features contrasting momentum. Atlanta has won three of its past four, with its only loss coming by one point to Las Vegas. Minnesota has won three of its last four, though both teams’ schedules include a back-to-back: the Dream played Phoenix on Sunday, the Lynx beat Chicago on Saturday. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 96-81 Minnesota victory. Atlanta enters as a one-point favorite, with the over/under set at 164 points. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. CDT.
