INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Dallas Wings and Indiana Fever open the 2026 WNBA season Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, both teams entering with identical 0-0 records. Dallas closed its 2025 season with a 97-76 victory over Phoenix on Sept. 11. Indiana ended its campaign with a 107-98 overtime loss at Las Vegas on Sept. 30 in a playoff game. The Wings and Fever meet in a season opener for the first time since 2023. Indiana enters as a 7.5-point favorite, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. The over/under is 175.5 points. Gainbridge Fieldhouse, capacity 18,165, could see a strong turnout for the opener. Both teams face a demanding early schedule. Dallas plays a home-and-home with Atlanta on Monday and Tuesday, then hosts Minnesota, Washington and Chicago in a nine-day stretch. The Wings also host Las Vegas on May 28 and travel to New York and Los Angeles in June. Indiana begins a three-game road trip May 13 at Los Angeles, then hosts Washington on May 15 and Seattle on May 16 and 17. The Fever then host Portland and Golden State before a return trip to the Valkyries. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Eastern. The game is the first of 40 for both clubs.
