CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers meet Monday night at Rocket Arena for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference playoff series, with the Cavaliers holding a 2-1 lead after a 116-109 victory Saturday. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. EDT. The top-seeded Pistons (66-26) saw their series advantage evaporate after dropping the past two games in Cleveland. Detroit won Game 1 at home 111-101 on May 5 and Game 2 107-97 on May 7 before the Cavaliers (57-35) answered Saturday to reclaim home-court advantage. Cleveland enters as a 3.5-point favorite, according to Interstat’s game simulator, which projects a 117-109 final. The over/under is 212.5. Pistons guard Cade Cunningham has been the engine of Detroit’s offense throughout the postseason. In Saturday’s loss, Cunningham recorded 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists (Interstat) — his third triple-double in five games. Over his past 10 playoff appearances, the 6-foot-6 guard has averaged 30.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists. He scored 45 points in a 116-109 win over Orlando on April 29. Detroit’s supporting cast remains a question mark. Forward Tobias Harris contributed 21 points Saturday, and guard Duncan Robinson added 15, but the Pistons struggled to contain Cleveland’s backcourt. Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell has been equally dominant. He poured in 35 points with 10 rebounds and four assists in Game 3, following up a 31-point effort in Game 2. In his past five playoff games, Mitchell is averaging 26.6 points on 47% shooting. Guard James Harden added 19 points and seven assists Saturday, while center Evan Mobley posted 13 points and eight rebounds with two blocks. The two teams split their seven-game regular-season series, with Cleveland winning four of those matchups. The Cavaliers took two of three at Rocket Arena, including a 113-109 win on March 3. Detroit has lost three of its past four road playoff games going back to the first round against Orlando. Cleveland is 4-2 at home this postseason. The winner of Game 4 will take a commanding 3-1 lead. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday in Detroit, with Games 6 and 7, if necessary, shifting back to Cleveland and Detroit, respectively.
