AP Sports Preview PHOENIX (Interstat) — The Oklahoma City Thunder look to complete a sweep of the Phoenix Suns in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series Monday night at Mortgage Matchup Center. The top-seeded Thunder bring a 67-18 regular-season record and a commanding 3-0 series lead after dominating the Suns in three straight games. Oklahoma City outscored Phoenix by an average of 27 points in the first two games at home, then won 121-109 on Saturday in Phoenix behind 42 points from guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Gilgeous-Alexander has been unstoppable in the series, averaging 34.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists over the three games. The MVP candidate scored 37 points in Game 2 and 25 in Game 1, sitting the fourth quarter of the 119-84 blowout victory. Over his last nine games, all wins, he has posted at least 20 points in every outing, including a 47-point performance against Detroit on March 30. Phoenix, the seed at 46-41, faces elimination after losing the first three games by a combined 60 points. Forward Dillon Brooks has been the Suns’ most consistent scorer, putting up 33 points, 30 and 18 in the series. Brooks scored 33 points in Game 3, his fourth straight game with at least 18 points. The Suns did beat Oklahoma City 135-103 on April 12 in the regular-season finale, but the Thunder responded by winning the next three meetings. Phoenix has lost four of its last six overall. Game time is 7 p.m. MST. The Thunder are favored by 10.5 points, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. The over/under is 211.5 points. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 121-114 Phoenix victory, but the Suns will need to slow Gilgeous-Alexander and get more production from their supporting cast. Center Oso Ighodaro had 15 points in Game 3, and guard Jalen Green added 26. The winner of this series advances to face either Denver or Golden State in the second round. If the Thunder sweep, they would host the Suns again Wednesday for a potential Game 5.
