BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Angels, with a 43-70 record, look to avoid another loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The forecast calls for 83 degrees and clouds. The Orioles, 55-58, won the series opener 3-1 on Tuesday and have split the four meetings so far this season. The teams continue the series Thursday. Probable starters for the Angels were listed as Reid Detmers (3-7) and Trevor Rogers (6-7). Baltimore had not announced a starter. Baltimore is a 1.5-run favorite, and the over-under is 8.5. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-2 Orioles win and gives Baltimore a 63.3 percent probability to win. Cade Povich is a player to watch for Baltimore after he threw six scoreless innings in Tuesday’s win, allowing seven hits and striking out seven. Relievers Yennier Cano and Rico Garcia each added a scoreless inning. For Los Angeles, Grayson Rodriguez is a player to watch. He took the loss Tuesday despite allowing only two earned runs in seven innings, scattering three hits and striking out six. Nolan Schanuel had two hits for the Angels, and reliever Mitch Farris allowed one run in one inning. The Angels have lost nine of their last 11. They won 3-0 against Milwaukee on Sunday, but fell again Tuesday. Recent losses also include series setbacks to Houston and San Francisco. The Orioles went 5-5 over their previous 10 games, including consecutive shutout losses to Philadelphia before beating the Angels on Tuesday. The teams play again Thursday. Los Angeles then travels to Miami for a weekend series, while Baltimore hosts the Angels again before heading to Texas on Friday.
