The Rockies have taken the first two games of the series, beating the Royals 3-1 on Friday and 12-6 on Saturday. The Royals are expected to start right-hander Seth Lugo (4-6). The Royals will have a day off Monday before opening a six-game homestand Tuesday against Minnesota. The Rockies will host Tampa Bay on Monday to begin a three-game series at Coors Field. Sunday’s matchup marks the final game between Kansas City and Colorado this season. Both teams are looking to build momentum in the second half, with the Royals trying to end a rough stretch and the Rockies aiming to complete a sweep at home.
