LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Boston Red Sox will try to make it two straight over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday when they play at Dodger Stadium. Boston (59-51) sends Payton Tolle (6-6) to the mound against Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (11-6). The forecast calls for clear skies and 85 degrees at game time. The Red Sox have won seven of their past 10, including Friday’s 9-4 victory in the opener of this three-game series. Brayan Bello earned that win with four innings of three-hit, scoreless relief, while Ceddanne Rafaela went 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. Ranger Suarez allowed three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. The Dodgers (69-41) have won six of their last 10. Shohei Ohtani homered and drove in two runs in Friday’s loss. Over his last 10 games, Ohtani is 12 for 41 with two home runs and seven RBIs. Edgardo Henriquez and Evan Phillips combined for 1 2/3 scoreless innings for Los Angeles on Friday. Los Angeles enters as a minus-1.5 run-line favorite, with the over/under set at 8. Interstat’s game simulator projects Boston to win 7-6, while Interstat’s ELO system gives the Dodgers a 61.50 percent probability of victory. Bello has allowed one earned run over 13 2/3 innings in his past three appearances, striking out 13. He is a key piece in a Red Sox bullpen that has been sharp during Boston’s recent surge. Yamamoto will try to stabilize a Dodgers rotation that has been inconsistent at times. Los Angeles went 4-2 on a recent trip through Philadelphia and New York and took two of three from Seattle before Friday’s loss. Boston, meanwhile, took three of four at before heading to Los Angeles. The Red Sox got contributions Friday from the top of the lineup and the pitching staff, and they will look for more of the same Saturday. The teams close the series Sunday. Boston then returns home to face the Chicago White Sox, while Los Angeles hosts Boston once more before traveling to Chicago to face the Cubs. With Tolle seeking his seventh win and Yamamoto his 12th, the matchup sets up as a close one under warm Southern California conditions. Both teams have dangerous lineups, and the bullpens could decide the outcome late.
