(Interstat) — Rain is in the forecast for Monday’s series opener between the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. in 86-degree conditions. The Phillies (56-49) enter as -1.5 favorites, according to pregame lines, with Interstat’s game simulator projecting a 4-0 Philadelphia victory. The over/under is 7.5. Philadelphia has won four of the last six meetings between the clubs, including two of three at home June 15-17. The Marlins took the most recent head-to-head matchup 12-4 on June 17, but Philadelphia won the preceding two games at Citizens Bank Park by a combined 15-2 margin. In May, the Phillies took three of five at loanDepot Park, outscoring Miami 14-11 in that series. The Phillies are coming off a 3-1 loss Saturday to the New York Yankees. Philadelphia has lost four of its last five games. Miami fell 5-3 Sunday to San Diego, snapping a brief bright spot from Janson Junk’s start. The Marlins have dropped nine of their last 10. Players to watch: Philadelphia reliever Tim Mayza delivered two scoreless innings Saturday against the Yankees, allowing no hits with one strikeout. It was a sharp rebound after a rocky stretch: Mayza allowed two earned runs July 22 against the Los Angeles Dodgers and four earned runs July 10 at Detroit. Over his last eight appearances, the left-hander has a 4.44 ERA with eight strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings. Miami right-hander Janson Junk is scheduled to start Monday. He threw 4 2/3 innings Sunday against San Diego, allowing one earned run on seven hits with six strikeouts. That outing was a strong bounce-back from his previous start July 20 at Houston, when he surrendered six earned runs in four innings. Junk is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA over his last three starts, striking out 14 in 13 2/3 innings. Other key performers from each team’s most recent game: For Philadelphia, relievers Brian Keller (3 IP, 1 ER, 3 K) and Jhoan Duran (1 IP, 0 ER, 3 K) also had strong outings Saturday. For Miami, first baseman Kyle Stowers went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI on Sunday, and reliever Cade Gibson pitched a scoreless inning.
