He has a 4.18 ERA over his last five appearances, with 29 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings. The Athletics have lost nine of their last 10 games, including eight straight on the road. Their offense has produced two runs or fewer in seven of those contests. Chicago, meanwhile, has won six of its last eight games and is 26-19 at home. According to Interstat, the game simulator projects a 4-1 White Sox victory. Despite Oakland’s record, the Athletics are listed as a -1.5 spread favorite in pregame betting lines.
