MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Interstat) — The Cleveland Guardians and Miami Marlins conclude their three-game series Sunday afternoon at loanDepot Park, with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m. EDT under partly cloudy skies and a game-time temperature of 91 degrees. Cleveland (50-46) has taken the first two games of the set, winning 3-2 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday, and will send right-hander Tanner Bibee to the mound seeking a sweep. Bibee, who earned the win in Saturday’s series opener, allowed one earned run over 6 2/3 innings, scattering five hits and striking out three. Over his past five starts, Bibee has posted a 2-3 record with a 3.72 ERA, striking out 16 in 29 innings while walking five. Miami (52-44) counters with right-hander Eury Pérez, who opposed Bibee on Saturday and took the loss despite a quality start. Pérez allowed two earned runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out six and walking none. In his last four outings, Pérez is 3-1 with a 1.56 ERA and 23 strikeouts across 22 2/3 innings. The Marlins lead the season series 2-1 and have won 10 of their last 14 games overall, but have dropped three of their last four. Miami’s offense, which ranks fourth in the National League in runs per game, managed just three runs across the first two games of this series. Cleveland’s bullpen has been sharp, posting a 2.13 ERA over the last 10 games. For Cleveland, left fielder Steven Kwan provided the key hit in Saturday’s win, going 1-for-4 with two RBIs. For Miami, shortstop Tim Anderson is 4-for-9 in the series. The Interstat game simulator projects a 6-5 Miami victory. Following this series, Cleveland returns home for a six-game homestand against Pittsburgh and Minnesota. Miami travels to Milwaukee for a three-game set starting Friday.
