Preview: Blue Jays at Giants SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Toronto Blue Jays visit Oracle Park on Monday to open a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants, a matchup of two teams mired below .500. Toronto (42-48) arrives after a 4-0 shutout loss Sunday at Seattle, its second defeat in three games. San Francisco (37-52) dropped a 7-6 decision at Colorado on Sunday, despite a 4-for-4, three-RBI performance from outfielder Drew Gilbert, who homered. The Blue Jays enter as a minus-1.5 favorite on the run line, per betting markets, though Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Giants victory. The over/under is set at 8 runs. Toronto right-hander Trey Yesavage is a player to watch. He took the loss Sunday in Seattle, allowing two earned runs over six innings with seven strikeouts. Over his past five starts, Yesavage is 2-3 with a 3.87 ERA, striking out 24 in 30 1/3 innings. For the Giants, Gilbert has been productive in limited recent action. He matched a career high with four hits Sunday, raising his average in his past 10 games. San Francisco has lost four of its last five. Following Monday’s opener, the teams play again Tuesday and Wednesday. Toronto then travels to San Diego for a three-game set. San Francisco returns home to host Colorado for four games beginning Thursday before a road trip to Seattle.
