LOS ANGELES (Interstat) β€” The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies on Monday, July 6, at Dodger Stadium, with first pitch at 7:10 p.m. PDT. The Dodgers (59-31) own the best record in the National League and have won four of their past five games. Colorado (37-54) has dropped four of its last six but enters after a 7-6 victory Sunday over San Francisco. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to start for Los Angeles. Yamamoto (10-2, 2.18 ERA) threw seven shutout innings in a 3-0 win over San Diego on July 4, allowing three hits and striking out 10. In his last four starts, he has a 1.69 ERA with 27 strikeouts over 27 1/3 innings. The Rockies have not announced a starting pitcher. Reliever Jordan Romano has been effective in his past two outings, recording two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, including a win Sunday against the Giants. Kyle Karros hit a home run and drove in three in that game. The Dodgers won three of four in a May series at home, taking games 5-3, 15-6 and 4-1. Colorado won 4-3 at Dodger Stadium on April 18. Overall, the Dodgers have won five of the past seven meetings. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-4 Dodgers victory. This is the first of a three-game series. The teams meet again Tuesday and Wednesday before Colorado travels to San Francisco and Los Angeles hosts Arizona.
