(Interstat) โ€” The Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals will play a day-night doubleheader Sunday at Kauffman Stadium, with the forecast calling for 83-degree temperatures and rain. The Phillies (49-39) enter as the strong favorite, with Interstatโ€™s game simulator projecting a 7-3 victory for the visitors. Philadelphia is listed at -1.5 on the spread, and the over/under is set at 9.5 runs. Philadelphia won the series opener 3-1 on Saturday, the only run coming off a Carter Jensen home run in the fourth inning. The Phillies have won five of their last 10, though they dropped their most recent game Thursday, 6-1 to Pittsburgh. Right-hander Alan Rangel is a player to watch for Philadelphia. In his last three starts, all losses, Rangel posted a 3.46 ERA across 13 innings. He threw four shutout innings against Pittsburgh on Thursday, scattering three hits with four strikeouts. Catcher Carter Jensen is a key offensive piece for the Royals. He homered in Thursdayโ€™s loss, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Across his last 10 games, Jensen is hitting .244 with three home runs and nine RBIs, including a 3-for-5, two-RBI performance in a 5-4 win at the Chicago White Sox on June 28. Jensen drove in the lone run Monday in a 2-1 victory at Tampa Bay. The Phillies will send a pitcher to the mound in the opener, with the Royals countering with a starter to be announced. Forecasts indicate rain likely will affect at least one game of the twin bill. Philadelphia continues its road trip Monday with another game at Kansas City, before heading to Cincinnati for three games beginning Tuesday. The Royals conclude the homestand with the series finale Monday, then travel to New York to face the Mets on Tuesday.
