DENVER (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins aim to complete a four-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies on Thursday evening at Coors Field, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. MDT under partly cloudy skies and a game-time temperature of 88 degrees. Miami (46-40) has won three straight games in the series, including a 14-3 rout Tuesday and a 10-7 victory Monday. The Marlins have not lost to Colorado since the season-opening three-game sweep at loanDepot park in March, a stretch of six consecutive head-to-head wins. Right-hander Eury Pérez (2-0, 1.80 ERA in two starts this season) takes the mound for Miami. In his last outing Tuesday (Interstat) — also against the Rockies at Coors Field (Interstat) — Pérez earned the victory by allowing one earned run on two hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out eight. He previously beat Texas on June 24, yielding one earned run in 4 2/3 innings. Colorado (33-53) counters with right-hander Tanner Gordon (0-1, 9.00 ERA). Gordon started Tuesday’s loss, surrendering five earned runs on nine hits over five innings with four strikeouts in his only major league appearance this season. The Marlins’ lineup has been productive in the series. Shortstop Javier Sanoja went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs on Tuesday, while designated hitter Kyle Stowers added three hits and two RBIs. Miami’s offense has scored 10 or more runs in two of the three games this week. The Rockies, mired in a five-game losing streak, will look to shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, who drove in the team’s only run Tuesday with a solo homer. Colorado’s pitching staff has surrendered 24 runs in the first three games of the series. Miami’s bullpen has posted a 2.25 ERA over the past three games, while Colorado’s relief corps has a 7.71 mark in that span. An Interstat game simulator projects a 7-4 Miami victory. The Marlins begin a three-game series at Oakland on Friday. The Rockies return home for a three-game set against San Francisco starting Friday.
