DENVER (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins aim to build on a three-game winning streak against the Colorado Rockies when the National League clubs open a four-game series Tuesday night at Coors Field. Miami (44-40) enters with the better record, having taken all three games from the Rockies in Miami from March 27-29. The series begins one day after Monday night’s scheduled opener was suspended due to rain with the score tied 0-0. Right-hander Tyler Phillips (3-5, 4.68 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Marlins. Phillips has been inconsistent, coming off a tough-luck loss at St. Louis on Sunday in which he allowed two earned runs over 7 1/3 innings but took a 2-1 defeat. In his previous outing, he was shelled for eight earned runs in four innings at Philadelphia. His best start of the season came June 11 against Arizona, when he threw five scoreless innings. Colorado (33-51) will counter with right-hander Ryan Feltner (4-7, 4.12 ERA). Feltner also pitched well in a losing effort Sunday at Minnesota, allowing one earned run over six innings. He has been mostly reliable of late, posting a 2.70 ERA over his last three starts, though he was tagged for six earned runs June 11 against the Cubs. The Rockies have lost eight of their last 11 games. Miami, meanwhile, has won six of its last eight. The Marlins won the previous head-to-head series in late March, taking three straight in Miami by scores of 4-3, 4-3 and 2-1. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Miami is projected to win 7-4. The Marlins are installed as a -1.5 run-line favorite, with the over/under set at 11.5 — a reflection of the hitter-friendly conditions at Coors Field. Tuesday’s game begins a stretch of seven consecutive road games for Miami, which will also stop in Oakland before returning home to face Seattle and Cleveland. Colorado continues its homestand through Thursday before a six-game California road trip against the Dodgers and Giants.
