NATIONALS AT ORIOLES PREVIEW BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles conclude their weekend series Sunday with a split doubleheader at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. First pitch for Game 1 is set for 1:05 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The forecast calls for rain and 75 degrees. Baltimore (39-44) has won two straight and three of four. Sunday’s doubleheader features a rematch of Friday’s starting pitchers. Left-hander Andrew Alvarez (4-6, 3.71 ERA) will start for Washington in one of the games. Alvarez took the loss Friday, allowing two earned runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings with five strikeouts. Over his last five outings, Alvarez has posted a 2.92 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 21 innings. Left-hander Trevor Rogers (8-5, 2.89 ERA) will start for Baltimore in the other game. Rogers earned the win Friday, allowing one earned run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts. He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts and owns a 1.47 ERA over that span. The Orioles took Friday’s game behind Rogers and a two-hit, one-RBI performance from designated hitter Coby Mayo. The Nationals won Saturday 2-1. Baltimore leads the season series 3-2. The teams split a three-game set in Washington in May. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Baltimore victory for one of Sunday’s games. The Orioles are installed as a -1.5 favorite on the run line. The over/under is 9.5. Sunday marks the final home game for the Orioles before a six-game road trip to Cincinnati and Chicago. The Nationals open a three-game series at Boston on Monday.
