NEW YORK (Interstat) — The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets conclude their three-game series Sunday afternoon at Citi Field with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m. The forecast calls for a 75-degree afternoon with rain in the area. The Phillies (46-37) hold a 9 1/2-game lead over the Mets (35-47) in the National League East standings. Philadelphia has won four of its last five games and seven of its last 10. Phillies slugger Bryce Harper enters the series finale riding a hot stretch against New York. In his last four games against the Mets, Harper is 10-for-15 with two home runs and six RBIs. Over his past 10 games overall, he is batting .375 with four homers. Harper went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in Saturday’s 6-2 loss to the Mets. Mets right-hander Christian Scott (2-0, 3.68 ERA in three starts this season) will take the mound for New York. Scott earned the win Saturday with 4 1/3 innings of two-run ball, allowing three hits and striking out six. In his previous start June 11 against St. Louis, he worked 4 2/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts. The Mets evened the series with a 6-2 victory Saturday after the Phillies won Friday’s opener 2-1. New York has now won two of its last three meetings with Philadelphia. The Mets are 7-12 in their past 19 games overall. Philadelphia’s pitching staff has held opponents to three or fewer runs in five of the past six games. The Phillies are 12-7 in June. New York has been inconsistent at the plate, scoring two runs or fewer in four of its past seven games. The Mets are 2-5 in their last seven home games. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-2 Phillies victory. Following Sunday’s game, Philadelphia returns home for a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates beginning Monday. The Mets travel to Toronto for a three-game series against the Blue Jays starting Monday.
