AP Sports Preview TAMPA, Fla. (Interstat) — The Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Rays continue their interleague series Saturday at 4:10 p.m. at George Steinbrenner Field. The forecast calls for 88-degree temperatures and cloudy skies. Arizona enters the game at 41-39, having won two of its last three games, including a 9-4 victory at St. Louis on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks dropped Friday’s series opener to the Rays 3-1. Tampa Bay, leading the American League East at 45-33, has won four of its last six games. The Rays pounded Kansas City 13-2 on Thursday. Players to watch Diamondbacks right-hander Mitch Bratt earned the win in Wednesday’s relief appearance, tossing three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three. Bratt is expected to be available out of the bullpen again. Rays third baseman Junior Caminero has been on a tear. In Thursday’s rout of the Royals, he went 3-for-5 with three home runs and six RBIs. Over his last eight games, Caminero is batting .290 (9-for-31) with four homers and 11 RBIs. Recent trends Arizona took three of four games from St. Louis in its previous series, with designated hitter Ketel Marte and first baseman LuJames Groover both homering in Wednesday’s win. Tampa Bay’s offense exploded for 13 runs Thursday behind Caminero’s outburst and a seven-strikeout, scoreless start from left-hander Ian Seymour, who allowed no hits over 6 2/3 innings. Right fielder Victor Mesa Jr. added a home run and three RBIs. Looking ahead Arizona continues its road trip Sunday with another game at Tampa Bay before returning home to host San Francisco on Monday. Tampa Bay closes the set with Arizona on Sunday, then travels to Kansas City for three games beginning Tuesday. Projection Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 Arizona victory.
