ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks conclude a four-game series Thursday night at Busch Stadium III, with the home team seeking to rebound from a narrow defeat. Leahy suffered the loss Tuesday despite a stellar outing, allowing no runs on three hits with three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. He has posted a 4.08 ERA over his past five appearances, with opponents batting .243 against him. Series notes: The Diamondbacks won Tuesday 4-3, snapping a three-game losing streak. The teams were tied 0-0 in the sixth inning Wednesday when the game was suspended by rain. Monday, St. Louis won 3-2. Both clubs have split the first two completed games of this four-game set. Arizona is 4-6 in its past 10 games. St. Louis is 5-5 over the same stretch. Looking ahead: A game simulator projects a 5-4 victory for Arizona. St. Louis is a -1.5 run favorite on the betting line. The over/under for total runs is 8.5. After Thursday, Arizona travels to Tampa Bay for a three-game series. St. Louis returns home to host Miami for three games.
