BASEBALL PREVIEW: RED SOX AT ROCKIES DENVER (Interstat) — The Boston Red Sox will try to snap a three-game losing streak Tuesday night when they face the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Right-hander Payton Tolle (1-4, 4.45 ERA) is scheduled to start for Boston (31-44), which dropped a 3-1 decision at Seattle on Sunday. Tolle took the loss in that game, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings with two strikeouts. In his past five starts, he has a 4.32 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 27 2/3 innings. The Red Sox have lost four of their past five games overall and are 4-12 in June. Colorado (30-48) will counter with right-hander John Brebbia (1-3, 4.15 ERA). Brebbia pitched two scoreless innings of relief Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing one hit and striking out one in an 8-6 loss. He has allowed one earned run over his past four appearances covering 6 2/3 innings. The Rockies have dropped four of their past five games and are 3-7 in their last 10 contests. Monday’s series opener between the teams was postponed due to inclement weather. Boston has been installed as a minus-1.5 run favorite, according to the Interstat sports monitor. The over/under is 10.5 runs. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-3 Colorado victory. Following Tuesday’s game, the teams will conclude the two-game series Wednesday afternoon. The Red Sox then return home to host the New York Yankees for a four-game series starting Thursday. The Rockies will travel to Minnesota for a three-game series beginning Friday.
