N.Y. Mets at Colorado Rockies Preview DENVER (Interstat) — The New York Mets and Colorado Rockies continue their four-game series Tuesday at Coors Field, with the Mets looking to build on a 4-2 win Monday. First pitch is set for 8:40 p.m. EDT. The Mets (13-22) have listed right-hander Freddy Peralta (1-3) and right-hander Michael Lorenzen (2-3) as probable pitchers. The Rockies (14-22) have not announced their starter. Peralta is seeking his second win after allowing four runs over five innings in a loss to Arizona on April 8. Lorenzen most recently earned a win against the Los Angeles Angels on May 1, allowing two runs over six innings. Players to watch Mets left-hander David Peterson has been effective in relief, particularly in Monday’s win when he threw four innings of two-run ball, striking out six. Over his past two appearances, Peterson has allowed two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts. Rockies right-handed reliever Juan Mejia has been dominant in his past two outings, tossing three scoreless innings while striking out eight. In Monday’s loss, Mejia threw two hitless innings with five strikeouts. Recent results The Mets snapped a three-game losing streak against the Rockies with Monday’s win. Colorado had won the previous three meetings in New York from April 24-26, outscoring the Mets 10-4. New York is 4-6 in its past 10 games. The Mets are coming off a series win at the Los Angeles Angels, taking two of three. Colorado has lost four straight, including a three-game sweep at home to Atlanta over the weekend. The Rockies were outscored 28-13 in that series. Betting lines The Mets are installed as a -1.5 favorite. The over/under for total runs is 10.
