MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Interstat) — The Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins continue their three-game series Saturday evening at loanDepot Park, with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. in conditions expected to be 85 degrees with clouds. Philadelphia (12-19) enters the contest after a 6-4 victory Friday afternoon, snapping a three-game losing streak. Right-hander Max Meyer (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Phillies. Meyer has made one appearance this season, allowing one unearned run over 4 2/3 innings in a spot start earlier this month. Miami (15-16) counters with right-hander Sandy Alcantara, a player to watch. Alcantara has won his past two starts, including a 3-2 victory Wednesday at the Los Angeles Dodgers in which he allowed two earned runs on seven hits over six innings with four strikeouts. Over his last five outings, Alcantara has a 4.58 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings. Philadelphia’s player to watch is left-hander Cristopher Sánchez, who earned the win in Thursday’s 3-2 victory over San Francisco. Sánchez took a no-decision but pitched six strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts. Over his past five starts, Sánchez owns a 3.60 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 29 innings. Friday’s win for Philadelphia was keyed by Kyle Schwarber, who hit a solo home run and drove in a run. The Phillies have won four of their past six games. Miami has won three of its past four games, including two straight in Los Angeles. Esteury Ruiz drove in a run and scored once in Wednesday’s win over the Dodgers. The Interstat game simulator projects a 5-2 Marlins victory, while the Interstat ELO system gives Philadelphia a 53.3% probability to win. After Saturday’s game, the two teams close the series Sunday and Monday afternoon at loanDepot Park. Philadelphia then returns home for a six-game homestand against the Athletics and Colorado Rockies. Miami hosts Baltimore for a three-game series beginning Tuesday before welcoming Washington for a weekend set.
