Boston (11-17) arrives after a 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, snapping a five-game losing streak. Connelly Early earned the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits over 6.2 innings with four strikeouts. Ceddanne Rafaela went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the victory. Toronto (12-15) enters having won three straight, including a 4-2 win over Cleveland on Sunday. Patrick Corbin earned the victory, allowing two earned runs over 4.2 innings. Jesús Sánchez homered and drove in three runs. The pitching matchup remains uncertain for Boston. The Red Sox list left-hander Ranger Suárez (1-2) and right-hander Dylan Cease (1-0) as probable pitchers. Toronto had not announced its starter at press time. Early has been a bright spot for Boston. In his past five outings, the left-hander is 2-3 with a 2.90 ERA, striking out 22 over 26.1 innings. He has worked at least six innings in three of those starts. Corbin has been steady for Toronto. Over his last five appearances, he is 3-1 with a 3.18 ERA, striking out 20 over 24 innings. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of five outings. The Red Sox have lost seven of their past 10 games, while the Blue Jays have won six of their past 10. Toronto has taken three of four meetings with Boston this season.
