BALTIMORE (Interstat) β€” The Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles conclude their weekend series Sunday afternoon at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with a 1:35 p.m. first pitch and a forecast of 58 degrees and rain. Boston (10-17) enters having split the first two games, crushing Baltimore 17-1 on Saturday after losing 10-3 on Friday. The Red Sox will start left-hander Connelly Early (1-1) against an Orioles club (13-14) that has not yet named its probable pitcher. Early owns a 1-1 record in the young season. He will face a Baltimore lineup that mustered only one run on Saturday but pounded Boston for 10 runs and 14 hits two nights earlier. Red Sox designated hitter Andruw Monasterio has been a bright spot for Boston. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and four RBIs in Saturday’s blowout win, and is 2 for 4 with an RBI over his last three games overall. In his past 10 contests, Monasterio has three multi-hit games and has driven in six runs. For Baltimore, right-hander Albert SuΓ‘rez figures to see work out of the bullpen. SuΓ‘rez threw four scoreless innings of relief Saturday β€” allowing two hits with two strikeouts β€” and has not allowed an earned run in two of his past three outings. Over his last five appearances, he has a 1.38 ERA across 13 innings. The Orioles are projected as pregame favorites with a spread of minus-1.5. The over/under is set at 8 runs. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-2 Baltimore victory, though the same outlet’s ELO system gives Boston a 51.9 percent probability to win. Boston will look to build on Saturday’s outburst, which featured a season-high 17 runs and a combined seven RBIs from Monasterio and first baseman Willson Contreras, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs. Left-hander Garrett Crochet earned the win, tossing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts. Baltimore is coming off a three-game sweep of Kansas City earlier in the week but has dropped five of its last seven overall. After Sunday’s game, Boston travels to Toronto for a three-game series beginning Monday. Baltimore will host Houston for three games starting Tuesday.
