LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream will try to extend their dominance over the Los Angeles Sparks in a WNBA game Monday, Aug. 24, at Crypto.com Arena. Atlanta enters at 24-13, having won four of its last five. Los Angeles is 13-24 and just snapped a five-game losing streak with a 77-68 victory over Connecticut on Saturday. Angel Reese has been Atlanta’s driving force. In the Dream’s 99-89 win at Phoenix on Saturday, Reese posted 31 points and 14 rebounds. She has recorded a double-double in each of her last 10 games, averaging 18 points and 13.2 rebounds during that stretch. In Thursday’s meeting against the Sparks, Reese finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Rae Burrell leads the Sparks’ recent surge. She scored 20 points and added three blocks in Saturday’s win over the Sun. Burrell has reached double figures in nine of her last 10 games and is averaging 16.9 points over that span. She scored 12 points in Los Angeles’ 124-88 loss at Atlanta on Aug. 20. Atlanta has won both meetings this season, also taking a 101-92 decision over Los Angeles on July 13. The Dream’s 124-point output Thursday was their highest in the season series. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 97-94 Atlanta victory. The Dream are an 8.5-point favorite, and the over/under is set at 182.5 total points. Both teams return to action Friday, with Atlanta hosting Portland and Los Angeles hosting Washington.
