WNBA: Tempo at Mystics WASHINGTON (Interstat) β The Toronto Tempo visit the Washington Mystics on Friday at CareFirst Arena in a battle of teams jockeying for early-season positioning in the WNBA standings. Toronto (6-5) enters riding a victory, having defeated the Chicago Sky 85-68 on Sunday. Washington (4-6) is coming off a narrow 78-76 loss to the Indiana Fever on Monday. The teams last met on May 8, when the Mystics secured a 68-65 road win over the Tempo. Fans should watch Toronto guard Brittney Sykes, who has been on an offensive tear. She scored 25 points with seven rebounds and three assists in the win over Chicago, and posted 38 points against Los Angeles on May 17. Over her last five games, Sykes has averaged 21.4 points. Washington will lean on forward Michaela Onyenwere, who scored 17 points in the loss to Indiana. She has been inconsistent recently, but tallied 13 points and seven rebounds in a win over Chicago on June 2. The Mystics have struggled offensively, losing their last two games by a combined 34 points. Toronto has been more balanced, winning three of its last four.
