NEW YORK (Interstat) — The New York Knicks can take a commanding 3-1 lead in the NBA playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday when they host Game 4 at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks (68-32) lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 after winning the first two games in San Antonio. New York won 105-104 on Friday and 105-95 on Wednesday. Game 3 is Monday in New York. San Antonio (74-29) is looking to avoid falling into a deep hole against a Knicks team that has not lost at home in the playoffs this season. Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama has been productive in the series, averaging 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in the two games. He had 29 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the Game 2 loss. Wembanyama averaged 27.9 points and 10.2 rebounds in the Western Conference semifinals against Oklahoma City. Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns has recorded double-doubles in both games this series, averaging 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds. He had 21 points and 13 rebounds in Game 2. In the teams’ most recent meeting, guards Devin Vassell (14 points, nine rebounds) and De’Aaron Fox (20 points) contributed for San Antonio, while Mikal Bridges (20 points) and OG Anunoby (17 points) aided New York. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 118-104 victory for the Knicks. The winner of the series will advance to face the winner of the other conference final. The next three games, if necessary, are scheduled for Saturday in San Antonio, Tuesday in New York and June 19 in San Antonio.
