ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers conclude a four-game series Monday evening at Globe Life Park, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. under clear skies and a game-time temperature of 98 degrees. Seattle (52-54) enters following a 6-4 victory Sunday that evened the series at two games apiece. Right-hander George Kirby (8-8, 3.78 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Mariners, though the club also lists right-hander Kumar Rocker (3-8, 5.12) as a probable option. Texas (53-52) counters with right-hander Jacob deGrom (2-3, 3.86). Outfielder Dominic Canzone has been a catalyst for Seattle in the series. He went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs in Sunday’s win, his second multi-hit performance in the past three games. Over his last 10 contests, Canzone is batting .240 (6-for-25) with one home run and seven RBIs. DeGrom lasted five innings in Sunday’s loss, allowing one earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts. The two-time Cy Young Award winner has yielded five earned runs in each of his prior two starts, covering 4 2/3 innings in each outing. The Rangers have won three of four in the season series against the Mariners, including two of three in Arlington last week. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-3 Texas victory. Seattle is a -1.5 run-line favorite, with an over/under of 7.5 total runs. Following Monday’s game, the Mariners travel to Los Angeles for a three-game series against the Dodgers beginning Tuesday. The Rangers open a three-game set at Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
