PREVIEW SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The Toronto Blue Jays will visit the San Diego Padres on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at PETCO Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PDT under clear skies with a temperature of 73 degrees. Toronto (44-49) will send right-hander Dylan Cease to the mound. San Diego (46-47) will counter with right-hander Griffin Canning. Cease has been dominant in his past two starts. On July 8, he threw eight innings of one-hit ball with 11 strikeouts in a 10-0 win at San Francisco. On July 3, he tossed seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a 2-0 victory at Seattle. Over his past five starts, Cease is 4-1 with a 1.78 ERA. Canning has struggled recently. He has lost his past three starts, including a 3-1 defeat Thursday against Arizona in which he allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. In his past five outings, Canning owns a 5.76 ERA. Friday’s series opener between the two teams finished scoreless after nine innings before being suspended. Toronto is coming off a 10-0 win Wednesday at San Francisco. Third baseman Kazuma Okamoto went 2 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs. First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a homer and two RBIs. San Diego lost 3-1 to Arizona on Thursday. Third baseman Manny Machado went 2 for 3 with a home run. The Blue Jays have won three of their past four games. The Padres have lost four of their past five. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Toronto victory. The Blue Jays are a -1.5 favorite. The over/under is 7.5 runs. Following Saturday’s game, the teams will meet again Sunday in the series finale. Toronto then returns home to host the Chicago White Sox. San Diego will travel to Kansas City.
